Have a website or application that you need hosted in the cloud but you don’t have the time or the knowledge to set up the server yourself? Allow me to configure your cloud server / application for you. I’ve refined my server configurations over a period of years for both security and performance.

Nginx

Nginx is arguably the best available open source web server available. I’ve spent years refining my configuration for Nginx servers for maximum performance and security. When combined with PHP, MariaDB, and Redis you get a server platform ideal for all manner of web based applications.

Due to fundamental differences in the way Nginx was designed – when compared with Apache, Nginx servers use fewer server resources and serve static content at blistering speeds. Dynamic platforms like WordPress – when combined with appropriate site caching – can leverage this performance advantage to reduce server costs and improve site performance.

WordPress

Over 40% of the web runs on WordPress … and this is for a good reason. There’s no other content management system as flexible or extendable, in no small part because of its open source nature. Don’t let anyone convince you that WordPress is inherently insecure. A well configured and maintained WordPress site is as secure as any other dynamic website. You could host your WordPress website almost anywhere, but if you want the absolute best performance and security with low server costs, you should consider running your WordPress site on a cloud server instead of with a traditional hosting company.

Nextcloud

You may have heard of Nextcloud as a replacement for your Dropbox or Google Drive, but it can be SO MUCH MORE. Nextcloud can be your webmail client, a chat client, a bookmark archive, a password manager, an ebook reader, a Trello replacement, and more! You choose which apps your Nextcloud server runs. Additionally, if you want to actually control your data instead of 3rd party services, then Nextcloud may be right for you!

Maintenance

Every server requires regular maintenance – be it in the form of system updates or performance monitoring – someone needs to ensure that your server is running at its best. I offer inexpensive maintenance services to any client who has me setup their cloud servers. Bundle your 1st year of maintenance with your server setup for an added discount.
